Rotary Young Leaders Award - would you like to try for this?

Why not recommend someone in your company to take part in the Rotary Young Leaders’ Award (RYLA)?

The Rotary Club of Cambridge sponsors young people (age 18-26) to take part in a RYLA course.

RYLA is a Rotary program to encourage the development of young people as future community and business leaders. The courses are a week long and take place at Grafham Water Centre, near Huntingdon, in early September. Participants take part in a residential programme that includes team exercises, physical activities, personal presentations and discussion. The aim is to create a testing, but supportive, environment where they challenged both physically and mentally, encouraged to step outside their comfort zone and learn more about themselves and their potential.

By combining the finest of outdoor development activities with current best practice in leadership training, the course helps candidates to:

- work effectively in a team, even when tired and stressed

- discover the benefits of delegation

- recognise and utilise skills in others

- work to tight deadlines

- understand the challenges of leadership

 - learn from their own mistake

Some comments from recent attendees: "Life changing” "Challenging & Exciting”, “Absolutely unforgettable”, "Understand myself more and my impact on others”, “Made life long friends”, “ Great fun”, “A fantastic experience”.

Applicants for sponsorship will be asked to complete an application form, and then attend for interview. For selected candidates, the full cost of the week’s course is covered by The Rotary Club of Cambridge. (For more details see www.cambridgerotary.org.uk )
