Engineer Apprenticeship Programme with SSE

Thinking about life after school – or a career change? Maybe you enjoy fixing things – or being outdoors and doing hands-on practical work. If so, the SSE Apprentice Programme could set you on the path to a long and rewarding career.
Offering you the chance to learn new skills whilst working, the Programme aims to qualify and train you to become one of our engineers of the future.
You’ll be supported every step of the way by our Apprentice Programme Team, your SSE work colleagues and college tutors. And, by the end of your 3 or 4year programme you'll have achieved a Modern Apprenticeship and the chance of a career with SSE.
You don't need any experience to apply. All you need is an interest in the work we do, an appreciation of our core values and the desire to do well. To meet the college requirements you'll need a minimum of 4 GCSEs (grade C or above or a minimum of National 4 in Scotland), including Maths, English and a Science or Craft subject.
Please note most of our apprentices attend college on a block release arrangement for several weeks at any one time; so you may have to live away from home for short periods of time.
