Pre-University Tasters
In the Education Studies taster you will critically discuss the concepts of fairness and social justice in education, develop an understanding of contemporary educational debates and consider the role of education in individual’s lives, in shaping society, and in affecting change.
In the two Sociology sessions you will explore issues including how Sociology is often concerned with the main markers of social difference in modern society – class, gender, ‘race’/ethnicity, age, sexuality and (dis)ability – and how these intersect in shaping the life chances and experiences of individuals.

enhance the school curriculum with teaching delivered by Warwick staff.
Each taster is three days long and packed with lectures,
seminars and personal effectiveness and communication skills workshops.
Tasters also include a guest speaker, who will deliver a lecture in London’s
iconic Shard.
Aimed at 16-18 year olds, there are no subject specific criteria
apart from an interest in economics and the desire to learn new ideas.
Economics Pre University Taster
Monday 6 - Wednesday 8 April 2020
Wednesday 27 – Friday 29 May 2020
The three-day programme is
aimed at 16-18 year olds designed for students who will be applying (or have
applied) to university and who wish to enhance the school curriculum with
teaching delivered by Warwick staff. It will be of particular interest to students
who are considering doing an Economics degree – whether that be straight
Economics, PPE, Maths and Economics, Politics and Economics, or any course with
an Economics element such as Business.
Each
taster is three days long and packed with lectures, seminars and personal
effectiveness and communication skills workshops. Tasters also include a
guest speaker, who will deliver a lecture in London’s iconic Shard.
Students must be at least 16 years in order to apply but there are no subject specific
criteria apart from an interest in economics and the desire to learn new ideas.

Taught by staff from the University of
Warwick’s departments of Education, Psychology and Sociology, our taster course
is two days long and packed with teaching activities designed to give you a
real taste of studying these exciting and complementary disciplines at
undergraduate level.

Bursaries
There are also a number of bursaries
available for free places for students from a widening participation
background. Students can apply for a bursary at the time of applying, and there
are also discounts available.
