Intelligence Analyst Trainee at GCHQ

Intelligence Analyst Trainee
£18,495 - Central Manchester
At GCHQ, we work closely with other intelligence agencies to keep the nation safe. We work against unique, complex threats – everything from cyber-attacks and espionage, to terrorism and organised crime. It means your work will be incredibly interesting, and unlike anything you’ll find anywhere else.
As an Intelligence Analyst Trainee, you’ll spend 18 months learning from a tailored development plan and supporting operational teams. Taking advantage of both classroom training and exciting real-world work, you’ll quickly improve your analyst skills. After completing the programme, you’ll process a large range of data – effectively defining, analysing and interpreting it. With this, you’ll produce insightful and impactful reports for our organisation.
To join us as a trainee, you don’t need to have a background in analysis, or intelligence. You just need to be curious about the impact of tech and keen to keep up with an ever-evolving world. A natural problem-solver, you’ll continually develop your skills and thrive in our fast-paced environment. We’ll need you to be at least 18 years old, with 5 GCSEs at grade C or above, (including English & Maths). You’ll also have 2 A levels at grade C or above, or the equivalent. Alternatively, you’ll have several years work experience which demonstrates your IT proficiency.
While this isn’t a graduate level position, it’s a chance to learn from experts and gain a career as an Intelligence Analyst. You’ll be surrounded by people who want to help, and you’ll even have a dedicated mentor to support you along the way. Everything is set up to benefit you. You can even work part-time, although you will need to commit to at least 30 hours a week. After successfully completing the programme, you’ll move into an analyst role in an area of GCHQ.
So, where will you be in 18 months?
