Over 20,000 new jobs were pledged during the Apprenticeship week this year by
employers such as Lloyds Banking Group (5,000), Whitbread (2,000) and Starbucks
(1,000). But it wasn't just the large employers that showed their commitment,
47% of the total number of vacancies will be created by small and medium sized
enterprises.
To take the momentum forward and help inspire young people
the National
Apprenticeship Service has an Information
Advice and Guidance page with a number of tools available to help careers
advisers explain apprenticeships, including presentations, lesson plans and
work books, factsheets, case studies and films.
There are 1,500 different job roles across 170
industries (see Types
of Apprenticeships). There are over 20,000 vacancies across the country
available on the Apprenticeship
vacancies website right now.
