At the Skills Festival Industry Insights sessions, learn more about the different employment sectors.

Offices might be closed by work still continues. Spend time with industry experts and begin to understand the different roles and responsibilities that exist within an organisation, as well as how you could have a career in this field. Don't be fooled by the titles, many industries have lost of unique and exciting jobs that you wouldn't know exist within these areas of specialism.

Topic

We’re a team of young graduates itching to show you what careers in the built environment look like, and the skills and qualifications you might need. We’ll show you some iconic buildings that Mace has delivered across the UK and internationally and how you could play a part in creating future structures. The opportunities cover a huge range from architect, construction manager and 3D modelling to project management, sustainability and commercial roles.

How they work?

Each Industry Insight session will last between 30 mins - 1.5 hr and will be conducted over the volunteer’s preferred video conferencing platform.

Students dial into the session and have an opportunity to learn what skills, attitudes and behaviours are needed to succeed in their chosen industry.

Having watched the webinar with former badminton world champion Gail Emms MBE, which Pathway CTM hosted on the 24th April, I was struck by the sheer drive and motivation that she mentioned having whilst working towards her tournaments, and it inspired me to consider ways in which I could implement those qualities into my own life. Gail Emms was a professional badminton player, and has won gold medals in both the World Championships and Commonwealth Games, and a silver in the 2004 Athens Olympics in badminton doubles.
