Cambridge Science Centre weekend work

The Cambridge Science Centre are looking for Sixth Form students to join their team of science communicators working in the museum over the weekends. They offer excellent training covering show and presentation skills, working with children and managing a small retail unit. They have a variety of shifts available and pay is from £8 per hour.

Lakin Rose is a local firm of Chartered Accountants, based on Vision Park in Histon.  We are growing and wish to appoint 2 trainee accountants this summer.  Brief details of the job specification and requirements are as follows:

 

·         Full-time trainee position in a local firm – work will include all aspects of accountancy and taxation for a mixture of business and individual clients, thus providing an excellent broad training

·         Full study support with local tuition provider – initially trainees will study for the Association of Accounting Technicians qualification, following which a choice of ICAEW or ACCA routes is available.  Full study support includes paid leave for day release study and all course, material and exam fees

·         Work in small teams in modern, air-conditioned offices – good transport links including guided bus and free limited parking

·         Be part of a young team – out of 18 professional staff, half are under 30 and are either studying or recently qualified

·         Candidates should expect to achieve strong A level grades across the board with A* or A in Mathematics and English Language at GCSE

·         Starting salary around £12,750 pa plus contributory pension, 25 days annual leave and flexible working hours

·         Anticipated start date August/September

ICAEW are working alongside Leeds University Business School to bring your students a brand new online course. This is a free course will give you and your students the opportunity to delve into the exciting world of business and will give you an overview of the role that money plays in business success. The course is open to students studying all subjects and there are no entry requirements so you can support us in strengthening your student’s employability skills today!

How can you and your students benefit from MOOC? Studying for this course will allow students to expand the knowledge they need when considering a career in business.  Content will be delivered through video, animations, interviews, hints and tips, on-line discussions with other learners around the world with all the information your students need at their fingertips.
