Spotlight Blog Ellie Appleby KPMG 360 Apprentice I have always liked to think that there is more to me than a grade on a piece of paper and KPMG have allowed me to prove just that! My name is Ellie Appleby and I am currently a KPMG 360 Business Services Apprentice. It would be all well and good to now explain why I chose the path I am on; that would be a standard thing to do in a testimony like this however, there is nothing standard about an apprenticeship with KPMG at all. Picture this, when I was growing up I always wanted to start a business in my chosen field, attend University, achieve my degree (and enjoy myself along the way), walk out in the world of work and write my business plan and finally launch my business. The reality is the world of work is riddled and thwarted with curves and hurdles that without the relevant guidance, it is possible however much harder, to get to where you want to be. An apprenticeship provides the best of both worlds! By providing the support of those who want to help develop you professionally. Again, the standard thing to do would be to follow suit and attend the normal education path to satisfy family or friends. The key thing to remember is that as our country goes through a period of change it is inevitable that the training and line into our workforce will as well. Experience is almost more valued and if this is supplemented with a qualification then even better - That’s why degree-level apprenticeships are so great. I stepped foot into KPMG only 15 months ago and I simply cannot believe the opportunities that the Apprenticeship program has given me. With the close advice from all the professionals at KPMG I have never been more confident in my future and I am truly looking forward to seeing where I could end up. You could easily be in the same position, so my advice would be to explore your options thoroughly! Science Apprenticeship Open Evening - Thursday 26th March 2020

You are invited to join us at our annual apprenticeship open evening.

This is a great opportunity for potential apprentices and their families to join us at our Fordham, Cambridgeshire site and find out more about what a scientific apprenticeship is really like.

You will find out more about the academic qualification you will receive from our training provider, CSR Scientific Training, meet our current science apprentices, who will tell you what a "typical day" is like for them, and why they chose the apprenticeship route. We will also hold a presentation which will tell you more about the structure of the scheme and how the application process will work, ready for applications opening early April 2020.

You will also have the opportunity to have a tour of our state of the art laboratories and facilities.

Each session will take approximately 1 hour 30 minutes.

Solicitor Apprenticeship Opening with Eversheds and Sutherland - September 2020 Start!

Eversheds and Sutherland are pleased to announce that applications for the Level 7 Solicitor Apprentice Scheme in our Cambridge office are now open. This is an excellent opportunity to qualify as a solicitor through the apprenticeship route with a well-known global firm, with 69 offices in 34 countries.

This programme allows you to become a fully qualified solicitor through a six-year programme of work-based learning and part-time study. At the end of the programme you will be qualified as a Solicitor and also attain an LLB degree with BPP University. This is a great alternative for anyone who was considering a career in law via the traditional route of University as the experience gained in the workplace is invaluable and it is a much more practical way of studying.

Apprentices have one study day per week during the apprenticeship and once qualified are able to apply for any of the vacancies on offer within the firm for new qualified solicitor roles. The aim being to retain every apprentice on qualification.

We welcome applicants that have or are predicted to achieve a minimum of BBB at A-Level (120 UCAS points) or equivalent, people of all ages are encouraged to apply.
