    Voluntary Services Overseas Opportunities

18 – 25 year olds needed for placements across Africa and Asia on VSO ICS (International Citizen Service)

VSO is one of the biggest and most respected names in volunteering for international development. The organisation has a 50-year track record of recruiting volunteers to live and work in developing countries and of bringing their skills, commitment and enthusiasm to play a major part in tackling poverty.
VSO ICS is funded by the UK government’s Department for International Development, giving UK young people the opportunity to live overseas for 10 -12 weeks, and work on impactful development programmes.
VSO ICS volunteers work with local volunteers on a range of projects designed around community need in five core areas: youth employment, education, youth leadership, access to healthcare or climate change.
As well as making a difference to communities around the world, volunteers gain important skills such as team-working, communication, negotiation and decision making. ICS is the perfect stepping stone into future employment opportunities.
All UK-based 18 to 25-year-olds are welcome to apply, regardless of background, qualifications, disability and work history.

All costs are covered including flights, accommodation, visas, vaccinations and an allowance whilst on placement. We do ask volunteers to fundraise around £800 prior to the placement and are given extensive 1 to 1 fundraising support from ICS staff. There are also many grants and bursaries available. No young person will be excluded for financial reasons.
