UCFB Virtual Open Days

Scholarship and bursary applications now open We are delighted to announce that the UCFB Means Tested Bursary Scheme and the UCFB Scholarships Programme is now open for applications ahead of the 2020/2021 academic year. These popular schemes are designed to encourage students from all backgrounds and abilities to embrace their time at UCFB, and succeed in their goal of becoming a graduate and gaining a career in the football and sports industry. Awards can range from financial assistance through to mentoring and support during students' time at UCFB. Means Tested Bursaries are intended to help level the playing field for students from lower income backgrounds and to ensure that higher education is for everybody. They are available as contributions towards accommodation, travel or tuition fee costs. UCFB Scholarships include the She Kicks Scholarship, in collaboration with She Kicks Magazine, which is open to outstanding female applicants; the Elite Athlete Scholarship for applicants who can showcase sporting achievement prior to joining UCFB, and the Access to Coaching Scholarship, which is open to black and minority ethnic (BME) coaches who have an interest in furthering their career in football coaching. Click here to see the full range of awards on offer Apply for Student Finance by 22nd May The deadline for new students to apply for Student Finance ahead of the 2020/21 academic year is fast approaching, so we wanted to remind all applicants of the Friday 22nd May deadline to ensure Student Finance is in place for the new academic year. Tuition fees are £9,250 per academic year for both UCFB Wembley and UCFB Etihad Campus. The full cost of fees can be covered by a tuition fee loan which then doesn’t have to be repaid until after students graduate and are earning over £25,725. Women in Professional Services (years 12 & 13). This is one of EY’s unique events where students are able to network with leading female professionals at the firm, learn about their journeys and receive useful advice on how to build your future career.

Following on from Wood Green, The Animals Charity’s successful youth work in Cambridgeshire, Northamptonshire and Hertfordshire, we are delighted to announce our animal care scholarship days running for the third year on the following dates in 2012:


13th and 14th August

15th And 16th August

20th and 21st August

22nd and 23rd August

Places are limited to 2 per day, 8 in total.

The programme will allow young people with a specific interest in animal care or a desire to pursue a career in animal welfare, the opportunity to spend the day on a unique and supported work placement. They will be directly working and learning with animals in a setting recognized worldwide for its animal welfare standards. Not only will the programme provide increased confidence working with both animals and people but also a fantastic opportunity to demonstrate animal and voluntary work experience on CV’s and training applications.

The day itself is provided free to the successful applicants n order to open up this experience to all who would benefit.

Financial Support for University

Just a quick email to make sure that any students who have applied to study with Anglia Ruskin University in 2012 are aware that they can apply for their scholarships and fee waivers. We know that any student has concerns about juggling their finances, so please do apply.

The Anglia Ruskin National Scholarship Programme is worth a total of £6,800 in the form of fee waivers over 3 years and it’s available to eligible students with a household income below £25,000.

The Anglia Ruskin Fee Waiver Scheme is worth up to £1500 per year of study and could reduce the cost of annual tuition fees for students with household incomes of below £35,000

As you can see it really is worth students looking into this further by going to the ARU website www.anglia.ac.uk/nsp and making an application.

The Lord Mayor of London Scholarships

Many Universities are offering scholarships to students who are high achievers - the following is an example from the City University London

"The Lord Mayor of London Scholarships are worth up to £3,000 a year for UK and EU students starting an undergraduate course of study at City in September 2012.

To qualify, students will need to attain grades AAB or above at A-level (excluding General Studies) or equivalent qualifications*. All qualifying applicants will automatically be awarded the Scholarship in January 2013. The value of the Scholarship will depend on A-Level (or equivalent) results and course of study. Students who maintain a high level of academic performance at City will continue to be rewarded each year. The Scholarship will not be means tested or offset against your tuition fee."

Royal Geographical Society Gap Year Grants – up to £4000 - URGENT ACTION REQUIRED

The RGS has Gap Year Scholarships available to students completing their A-Levels in 2012 and taking a year out in 2012/13. The scholarships include a grant of up to £4000 plus expert support and mentoring to plan a worthwhile experience.

Applications are welcomed from students going onto study Geography at a UK university who would not otherwise have the means or ability to participate in such activities. Applicants should also be wishing to spend at least part of the gap year undertaking meaningful activities and learning opportunities abroad, which will positively impact their future studies and career.

The deadline for applications is Friday 30th September 2011.
