Nursing, Midwifery & Healthcare Support Worker Open Day Event – International Year of the Nurse & Midwife

This event may be of interest to any students that might be considering a career in healthcare, or maybe just want to know more about some of the work that goes on in a hospital.

Nursing, Midwifery & Healthcare Support Worker Open Day Event – International Year of the Nurse & Midwife:

Saturday 15th February 2020, 9am to 2pm http://bit.ly/OpenDayFeb20

Cambridge University Hospitals – Deakin Centre - http://bit.ly/cuhfindingus

The day will include a wide range of workshops, educational talks, displays and tours of key areas in the hospital, this is an interactive and fun day for the whole family.

Nurses and Midwives at CUH work in a wide range of clinical specialities, including paediatrics, emergency care, critical care, medical, surgical, neurosciences, oncology and research to name just a few.

Support staff include healthcare support workers, maternity care assistants, physician’s assistants  and theatre support workers, many who go on to become nurse associates or join our nursing apprenticeship programme.  We are one of only a few Trust’s that runs its own nurse apprenticeship schemes, in conjunction with Anglia Ruskin University, meaning students can earn while they learn and have their tuition fees paid.

Our nursing, midwifery and HCSW staff will be on hand to offer advice about working within their specialities and share their experiences about working at CUH.

Who else will be there?

The following areas will also be on hand to offer careers and general advice about working with CUH

    • Recruitment and Career Services
    • Global Health Partners – Volunteering abroad
    • Apprenticeship Team, including Nurse Associates
    • Work Experience Team
    • Staff Bank (temporary work including gap year opportunities)
    • Armed Forces – Step into Health
    • eHospital - Nursing in a digital age
    • Hospital Archives – Take a look at the history of nursing at CUH

No appointment or pre-booking registration required, just turn up on the day! More information and useful links:
