Well done to all those students who attended last week's Apprenticeship Event in the Student Centre.  You should know that the overwhelming response from Exhibitors was that they were very impressed with students at our college.  The were particularly complementary about the insightful questions they were asked, and they thought that students presented themselves in a mature and respectful way.  One exhibitor went to great length to compliment the communication skills of our students, saying that this is exactly what employers are looking for when deciding between applicants, and it is just as well - some stands had as many as 40 students signing up for more information about the opportunities they had on offer! 

It is action like this that will help you to prepare for your future when you leave this college, lining up opportunities for a smooth transition into the career you want.

College Apprenticeship Event proves a huge success

We would like to say a huge thank you to all our Apprenticeship Exhibitors who attended the Long Road Apprenticeship Event on Wednesday.  Feedback by students was VERY positive, and we are delighted that a number of stands reported in excess of 40 sign-ups to the offers they have for this summer!  Clearly, switched on students have recognised that Apprenticeships offer a viable progression route, helping them to achieve their career goals.  Well done to everyone involved.

Apprenticeship Event, TODAY!!

Today is the launch of this year's Apprenticeship Event in the Student Centre.  Running from  11.00 - 2.00, we welcome a broad range of exhibitors who want to meet you!


If you have ever wondered what Apprenticeships are all about, or how they might offer a valid alternative to university (YES, you can secure a Degree Apprenticeship!), then today is the day to find out more.  You do not have to book in to the event, simply turn up between 11.00 and 2.00 and approach any of the stands you are interested in.


Consider, even if you have decided that university is the route you want to take, do you really want to pursue that goal without fully understanding other options you have turned down?  Come and satisfy your curiosity and leave feeling secure in your decisions.
